General Data Protection Regulation: bringing our practices into line

Regulation 2016/679/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data (RGPD in French or GDPR in English) came into force on 25 May 2018. The purpose of this legislation is to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons and, in particular, the right of European citizens to the protection of personal data.

Given the need to bring our practices into line with the GDPR quickly, Christophe DILLARD, SEIFEL's HR Director, is responsible for managing this project. He is appointed DPO (Data Protection Officer) on behalf of the SICAME GROUP, the better to coordinate the work to be carried out within the Group's business units located in Europe.

Audits are already underway and action plans being prepared in the French subsidiaries and documents will be sent out soon, particularly to the European subsidiaries, with the following objectives:

• To notify the employees of European subsidiaries.

• To communicate the Group’s GDPR policy for external partners (customers and suppliers, as well as on the Group’s various websites in Europe).

• A working guide specifying the actions to be taken to ensure compliance.

This project requires significant work and involvement in each of our European subsidiaries. Christophe DILLARD will support us to achieve our objectives. You can contact him at the special email address for this project: inforgpd@sicamegroup. com.
