SALVI actively collaborates with technical schools and universities. In Italy, this type of collaboration is considered as fundamental to innovation and com-petitiveness. The Chancellor of the "Politecnico di Milano" university, Professor Ferruccio Resta, visiting SALVI on 8 September, stressed this close collabo-ration established over 50 years ago and referred to the common research carried out in the company’s laboratories. They have enabled better understan-ding of the phenomena of vibration on high voltage power lines.

For each transmission line, a specific study is per-formed by considering that the assessment must be carried out on the entire system. The common approach allows a complete project to be carried out rather than develop a simple highly-effective product. For the calculations of the different vibra-tion studies, software was developed and is fre-quently improved by the Mechanical Department of the Milan Polytechnic School. This is how a certain number of developments were able to be achieved.
