SICAME AUSTRALIA has just received confirmation of the choice of ENDEAVOUR ENERGY for its earthing systems, both for electricity transmission installations (HV-B) and for medium voltage distribution lines (HV-A). The choice is also confirmed for low voltage earth connections as well as for hook insulating sticks and various earthing accessories. The contract was confirmed to supply 16 part numbers over a 7-year period. 

This public purchasing bid had the positive effect of a beneficial collaboration between several of the Group’s business units, with products coming particularly from SICAME AUSTRALIA, CATU and FESP. It’s not impossible that SICAME CHINA and Sicame India will soon take part in supplying products. 

Strategically, this success has practically chased away our absence from this important regional market. SICAME AUSTRALIA now controls 95% of ‘utilities’ activities in this State (New South Wales) with aluminium cable earthing systems. In practice there are now 3 distribution operators (Ausgrid, Endeavour and Essential) as well as one transmission operator (Transgrid) that use our products. 

And, although SICAME AUSTRALIA is market leader in Australia for portable earthing systems, this is its first success for a formal contract. This can be largely attributed to the reorganisation of the Group and to the ability to increase the flexibility of product offers and their prices. 

The tender process was launvched in 2012 with numerous tests and demonstrations before publishing specifications at the beginning of 2016. Assessment of the bids lasted more than 12 months.
